Angela Neil is a dedicated educator with a passion for literature, language, and the written word. Over the past four years, she has influenced young minds as an 8th-grade English teacher, not only imparting knowledge but also nurturing a deep appreciation for reading and writing among her students. Angela earned her Bachelor's degree in English Secondary Education with a Creative Writing minor from Shippensburg University in 2021, laying a strong foundation for her career in education and writing. During this time, she also self-published a collection of poetry titled The Faults in Feminism, with guidance and support from her professors in the English program—an accomplishment that underscores her commitment to the craft and her ability to bring creative projects to life.
In addition to her work in the middle school classroom, Angela has led a series of adult writers' workshops titled Roots and Branches, which featured a range of genres and formats, including free writing sessions and manuscript support groups. She will begin teaching an adult literacy class this July as the instructor of an intermediate ESL course at Hagerstown Community College. Beginning in August, Angela will also join the English faculty at Wilson College as an Adjunct Professor, where she will be teaching freshman composition for the fall semester.
Beyond her role in the classroom, Angela has actively contributed to the literary community, assuming leadership roles in various writing organizations and honors societies. Her efforts have cultivated environments where creativity and expression thrive, inspiring others to explore their voices through written works.
Currently, Angela is pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at Wilkes University, where she continues to refine her creative writing skills and deepen her understanding of the craft. Known for her keen eye for detail and a natural flair for words, Angela excels in crafting compelling narratives that resonate with authenticity and emotion. Angela's expertise extends beyond creative writing. She is proficient in technical aspects such as citations, ensuring the integrity and credibility of her work. She adeptly utilizes tools like Canva for creative design and navigates Google products with ease, leveraging technology to streamline her workflow and enhance collaboration. Passionate about sharing her technological skills, Angela has founded Angela's Digital Workshops, a program that trains adults to use Canva, Google Products, Microsoft Products, and AI, reflecting her commitment to continuous exploration and teaching. A natural leader, Angela thrives in guiding others toward their goals, whether in the classroom, writing communities, or collaborative projects. Her enthusiasm for education is matched only by her curiosity and eagerness to explore innovative technologies, including AI, to enrich learning experiences.
